Volunteers For Animals of Batavia, Inc is a non-profit organization dedicated to caring for the animals in Genesee County including providing resources to assist animal care at the Genesee County Animal Shelter.Volunteers For Animals mission is to provide care, comfort and protection to companion animals in need in Genesee County, NY by engaging the hands, hearts and minds of our community. VFA seeks to promote compassion and kindness as well as a clear opportunity for adoption.

Meet Houston

Houston is a 6 year old neutered male Pit Bull Terrier Mix. This guy is loaded with personality and love! Who can resist that beautiful smile? He weighs 85 lbs (but he could stand to lose a few pounds). He is good on a leash, seems housebroken and is great with cats and other dogs. Houston is currently at the Shelter.

Adoption Process
There is a $60 NON-REFUNDABLE FEE for all animals which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered there is a $35 REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT upon proof of surgery. An adoption application must be filled out at the Shelter by the person wishing to adopt the animal. Once the application has been reviewed and approved the potential adopter may visit and meet any of the animals.
