Meet Tucker

Location: Pittsburgh, PA Hi Everyone, Meet Tucker. Tucker is a soon to be 6 year old Australian Cattle dog that is looking for his human. Tucker was reportedly dropped at a shelter after being picked up as a stray and came to his foster mom 6 months ago extremely scared and frightened of everything.  For the first 2 weeks, he didn’t want to come out of his rather large crate and was terrified to go outside on a leash. Tucker would pancake and shy away from all contact. Luckily, I have another foster who Tucker really took to and they became best friends. Sadie showed Tucker “the ropes” and helped immensely with his confidence. While they are not a bonded pair, if anyone is looking to add more than one to their pack, please consider Sadie also.  With a lot of love and patience, Tucker has come such a long way and still has more potential. He will no longer duck his head when I go to put on his leash or pet him. He will “mouth” my hand now looking to play and puts his nose under my hand now, looking for pets. This has been all within the last 3 months. Tucker will get up on the bed and curl up right beside me, but lets out a little growl and moves if my arm goes over him. He has been quite the challenge when it comes to housebreaking, but he has been great since he was recently neutered.  Tucker LOVES to play ball. LOVES-LOVES-LOVES. And he is good at it. Nothing else exists in his world when we are playing ball. Tucker is a medium to high energy cattle dog. We do a quick 15-20 minutes of playing ball in the morning and at least 30 minutes at night. In between he will play with Sadie or chew on a bone and does quiet down well at night. Due to his fear, Tucker would probably do best in a home that is relatively quiet. Tucker weighs 38 pounds, neutered and up to date on all vaccines and preventatives. He is being fostered near Pittsburgh PA. Please email questions to [email protected].
