Meet HENRY

Meet Henry – A Gentle Soul Ready for the Love He’s Never Known Just look at that face — the kind, hopeful eyes and the biggest, most joyful grin you’ve ever seen. That’s Henry, and he’s smiling because, at 6 years old, he just experienced his very first bath. A small thing to most dogs, but for Henry, it was a moment of love, care, and attention he had waited a lifetime to feel. It was his spa day — a celebration of a fresh start, of a life that’s finally turning a corner. Henry’s story begins back in 2019, when he was just a 6-week-old pup, full of wonder and trust. He was adopted by a family who, sadly, didn’t keep that promise of forever. He was soon discarded — left behind at a relative’s house where he lived largely ignored and forgotten. When asked if they wanted him back, the answer was chilling: “If I get him, I’ll just take him out in the field and shoot him.” But that wasn’t the end of Henry’s story. That was the beginning of his rescue. Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in, wrapping him in the care, safety, and dignity that he always deserved. And Henry? Despite the heartbreak, despite the neglect, he is still one of the sweetest, most forgiving, most loving dogs you could ever meet. His heart is big. His spirit is unbroken. And his tail still wags with hope. Henry is an Australian Shepherd mix, weighing 41 pounds — a perfect size for cuddling, road tripping, and everything in between. He’s wonderful with people, great with other dogs, and so eager to learn. He's still brushing up on house manners, but his intelligence and desire to please make him a joy to work with. He’s gentle, solid, and has a calm presence that brings peace wherever he goes. Henry has never truly had a family that saw him — not really. Not as the loyal, loving, tender-hearted companion he is. But that’s going to change. Because the right person, the right family, will see the treasure he is. They’ll see the gratitude in his eyes, the joy in his walk, the comfort in his quiet companionship. He’s ready to be your couch buddy, your walking pal, your faithful shadow. He’s the perfect age — past the puppy chaos, but with years of life and love still ahead. What he needs now is someone to show him that he’s home. For good. If you feel your heart pulling toward Henry — if you believe in second chances and forever love — please reach out. Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at [email protected] and ask about Henry. Let’s write the next chapter of Henry’s story — one filled with laughter, security, adventure, and above all, love. He’s waited a long time. Now it’s his turn         PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or [email protected]

Adoption Process
All potential adoptors must complete the application request form on any dog. Before placing a dog with an adoptor Critter Companion conducts a vet check to ensure proper health, gets the dog up to date on all shots and neuters the dog.
