Volunteers For Animals of Batavia, Inc is a non-profit organization dedicated to caring for the animals in Genesee County including providing resources to assist animal care at the Genesee County Animal Shelter.Volunteers For Animals mission is to provide care, comfort and protection to companion animals in need in Genesee County, NY by engaging the hands, hearts and minds of our community. VFA seeks to promote compassion and kindness as well as a clear opportunity for adoption.

Meet Candy

Candy is an adult female Pit Bull Terrier Mix. She weighs about 44 lbs. Candy came in covered with ticks. It took a long time to get them all off of her, but during the entire process, she was very sweet and patient. She is a wonderful girl who is gentle and loves to snuggle. Candy seems to be housebroken and so far seems good with other dogs. Candy is currently at the Shelter - she will be spayed prior to adoption.

Adoption Process
There is a $60 NON-REFUNDABLE FEE for all animals which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered there is a $35 REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT upon proof of surgery. An adoption application must be filled out at the Shelter by the person wishing to adopt the animal. Once the application has been reviewed and approved the potential adopter may visit and meet any of the animals.
