Buffalo CARES was started by 7 people who have worked together for years at various other rescues. We started this rescue because we wanted to make sure our rescue was run the right way. We saw a need for a rescue in the Buffalo, NY area that would help & rescue local dogs. The majority of our animals are local animals.

Meet Essex – a.k.a. Essie! Hi there! My name is Essex, but my friends call me Essie. I'm an adorable male puppy with a heart full of love and a nose that’s always on the lookout for treats—yes, I’m very treat motivated! I’m still learning the ropes when it comes to potty training, but I’m a quick study and making great progress. I already know how to “sit” and I’m currently working on giving my paw—pretty cool, right? I live with two other dogs who I absolutely adore, and I also share my home with two little kids. I'm incredibly gentle with them and love all the humans I meet! At night, I sleep soundly in my crate for a full eight hours like a champ. I’m playful, love my toys, and I’m always ready for a game of fetch or a run around the yard. I’m just looking for a forever home where I can grow up feeling safe, loved, and part of the family. Adoption Process
All adoptions require, reference checks, vet reference checks, home visits, meet & greets. From there we will determine if that applicant is right for the dog they are interested in. At the adoption, a contract will be signed and an adoption fee will be paid. Fee's are based on the specific dog. Puppies, adults, bully breeds or special needs.
