Rosanna Pembroke, MA Sweet, shy Rosanna is looking to start her next and best chapter! She's been slowly coming out of her shell and gaining some confidence here in foster, and will greatly benefit from a patient owner who can continue gently expanding her horizons and bolstering her courage. Rosanna has been pretty reserved in her time here, but I suspect once truly comfortable she'll be more in the medium energy range. Her goofy, playful side is beginning to make more of an appearance now that she's had a couple of weeks to settle in, she just needs the right home to help coax that out full-time! She enjoys walks, and I've been making a point to incorporate some basic, fun confidence-building games into our treks to build both our relationship and her nerve. She's so proud of herself when celebrating her "wins"! Rosanna is fairly food motivated, which is helpful for training, and loves pets from her people: once you start you won't be able to stop without her nosing your hand for more! Rosanna would be fine as an only pet, or okay sharing a home with a respectful dog who will give her time to warm up. It has taken her a while to show a little interest in the dogs here, and she still prefers when they ignore her, so forward and rambunctious dogs will be pretty off-putting for her. She will likely show more interest in interactions and/or play with time and the right dog, but at this time prefers coexistence. She has not been cat tested, so potential adopters with cats will need to be close enough for a cat test. Due to her shy, sensitive personality, she will do best in a home without children. A patient owner with a soft touch and willingness to continue confidence building would be a great pairing for Rosanna. She needs time to warm up to people, so her owner should be okay with a dog who may prefer chilling in another room while guests are over. City life and apartment complexes will be overwhelming for her - she'd prefer a quiet, less busy environment. She won't be jumping right into your lap off the bat, but take the time to work with her and you'll have a loyal, loving companion for life! Rosanna is approximately 1-2 years old, 35lbs, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and monthly preventatives. Based on an embark panel from a dog strongly suspected to be a relative, we can make an educated guess that she is primarily an ACD/BC mix with some other breeds also present. She is being fostered in Pembroke MA, and must meet her potential family to ensure a great match.
