Meet Coco in OH - Calm, Very Gentle & Affectionate!

Gentle Coco is a beautiful girl with a calm, loving personality and the sweetest soul! Coco would love nothing more than a person or family to adore her and spend lots of time snuggling and showering her with affection. She is happiest when she's right by her people's side! This precious girl came to rescue as a stray, and despite her difficult past, she has blossomed into the most affectionate companion. Coco keeps her kennel spotless, knows basic commands like “sit” and “come” (mostly!), and enters her kennel like the well-mannered lady she is. This gorgeous Pyrenees has beautiful badger markings and a medium-length coat that she enjoys having brushed, leaning into you for maximum petting coverage! Coco has an overall calm energy and would welcome a laid-back male companion of similar age, though she'd be perfectly content as your one-and-only. While she's fine with other dogs, cats are a no-go as this girl has a strong prey drive. Coco can be initially wary of men but will warm up with patience and time – she just needs to know she's safe. This tall, elegant girl is currently underweight but happily accepts all treats with polite sits, working her way back to her ideal 90 - 100 pounds. Coco doesn't mind her pet-i-cures, and will contentedly spend time both inside snuggling and outside patrolling her yard. This gentle giant's main goal in life is simply to be loved and to love her human companion right back! Coco's PYRfect home would be with a family who has a 5-foot fence, no cats, older children due to her size, and most importantly – lots of time to spend loving this devoted girl who only wants to please her people! - Written by H.B. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
