Speaking of Dogs Rescue

Speaking of Dogs Rescue Program is a Canadian registered charity. We are a volunteer-based dog rescue in Toronto that is dedicated to assisting dogs from shelters as well as taking in dogs surrendered by their owner when space allows. We have a focus on helping senior dogs. Our dogs are lovingly cared for in foster homes until we find them a suitable forever home.

Meet Freya

Freya is a 2-3 year old mini poodle mix (we think with "cockapoo) who is a friendly, happy and outgoing lady.  She is from a puppy mill but is looking forward to moving forward with her new life now!   She is good with other dogs, loves going for walks, is energetic and always up for adventure.  We are working on  her housetraining and it's coming along very well. She is approx. 30-35 pounds, good with cats, likes people and enjoys their attention and affection. Freya is not like other puppy mill dogs where they are shut down and fearful. This girl has had socialization and human interaction, and knows how to walk on the leash. If you are interested in Freya, here is the link to our adoption application:  https://www.speakingofdogs.com/adoption/dog-adoption-application-2/

Adoption Process
We have applicants fill out a questionnaire, we do a phone interview, and if things go well we do a home check. If that goes well we arrange for the person to meet the dog in the presence of one of our volunteers. If that goes well and all parties are happy and it's the right fit, we have the person sign an adoption contract. We spay/neuter, vaccinate, and microchip all dogs prior to adoption. Also, the contract states that if in the future they can't keep the dog that they must return the dog to us. Our adoption fee is $450.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
