Joyful Rescues, Inc.

Since our humble beginnings in December 2002, Joyful Rescues has grown into a 501(c)3 non-profit corporate team of volunteer animal lovers reaching out to help homeless dogs, puppies, cats and kittens in need of love, affection and forever homes. We are a no-kill shelter – meaning we never euthanize for space. Our primary goals here at Joyful Rescues are to re-home pets and save them from becoming homeless in the future, educate the public on pet care and spaying/neutering to control the pet overpopulation, to spay/neuter every pet before they leave us and spay/neuter as many pets, belonging to the public, as possible within our means.

Meet Amanda Puerto Rico

Amanda Puerto Rico was born about April 12, 2010 and weighs about 18 lbs.  She could stand to gain a couple now that her breeding days are over.  This little girl came all the way from Puerto Rico in cargo and her foster mom, Guanina/Nina sent a beautiful note of appreciation that she would like passed on to Amanda's forever family.  She stated that Amanda suffered a lot and "she was used just to have puppies in exchange for money".  She was bred to the extent that Jeanne, the volunteer who picked her up from the airport, sent a photo of her vulva thinking it was a tumor or something.   I had to explain that she was just over used and how sad is it that I've seen that so many times I knew immediately what had happened to her before reading the note from her P.R. foster mom.  Amanda ADORES her humans and has been, absolutely, wonderful with all the other dogs, her temperament is beyond amazing.  She loves belly rubs and snoozing on a lap is her favorite sport besides wiggling her little tail anytime you look her way.  Her P.R. foster mom said she is good with cats, kids, and house trained.  Puerto Rico has a dog over population problem and that is why they try desperately to send some to the mainland in areas such as ours where the population problem of nice, family, dogs is pretty well under control.  Welcome Amanda! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $300.00. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link "Special Instructions to Seller" if you want to note a particular pet
