Meet Abner Puerto Rico

Abner was born about February 16, 2024 and there was a video of his mom in PR and she appeared to weigh about 50 lbs.  Dad is unknown so Abner could be more or less.   Abner was rescued from a rural area in Puerto Rico with his 2 siblings and his Mom and came here with a woman that travels often back/forth from the island.  Abner is learning so much and is pretty much a blank slate, just taking everything in, and learning that humans are pretty cool and he has become very social and loving.  We haven’t heard him bark yet, but we’re pretty sure he will find his voice soon.  He loves other dogs - right now he is more submissive, but he is just learning the ropes.  We believe he would be great with children, and probably cats, too.  He loves to play with toys and his foster sister.  He seems to follow other dogs leads so perhaps a home with another playful dog would be great for him.  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $_600.00_. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list.
