Pibbles & More Animal Rescue

Pibbles & More Animal Rescue, Inc.is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, all volunteer, animal rescue organization based in New York - www.pmarinc.org To reduce pet overpopulation, particularly pit bulls, through spay/neuter intervention. Educating the public about responsible pet ownership through adoption as opposed to purchase.Pibbles & More Animal Rescue was started with the belief that no animal should die unwanted. After seeing the abundance of Pit bulls in shelters we decided to try to do something about it.In the beginning it was a small crew who banded together to form Pibbles & More Animal Rescue. We pull and re-home dogs from death row in the NY ACC shelters as well as from the Northeastern states where we have fosters, and from NC, SC and Georgia gassing shelters. We all have the hope that one day we will be a no kill nation. Until then, we rescue as many dogs as we can, get them medical treatment and put them into foster homes until permanent homes can be found. We take in healthy dogs, mange dogs ,heart-worm positive dogs and dogs who have been abused or have broken bones and open wounds. When we are done, only the scars remain, and the beautiful animals underneath shine through. The potential is there, for dogs to get a second chance at life, to know what love feels like. This is what we strive for every day. To find responsible loving owners for the bullies of the world.

Meet Roxie

Like many dogs in Texas, Roxie had a rough go of it. She was discovered by a good samaritan living in a junkyard with 12 puppies. We were contacted and through a lot of hard work, managed to bring up Roxie and 9 of her puppies (3 were given away prior to transport). Roxie has been living large in her new upstate foster home and this is what her foster mom says "things about Roxie…Helping dish out pizza requires her intense scrutiny but she is polite while we are eating. She prefers the company of people vs. her crate but she’s getting much better. She’s learning to sit before we open her crate door, she thinks manners are a waste of dog time and she has more important things to do.  She loves her stuffies and recently discovered the couch." A far cry from her life before. Please consider giving this girl a good forever home. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested, and treated if necessary.  Vet references and a home/family visit are required, and an adoption fee applies.  Transport options are available within our area of operation, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England. Please note we do not adopt animals into Canada. Visit www.pmarinc.org for more information, and to fill out an application.
