Volunteers For Animals of Batavia, Inc is a non-profit organization dedicated to caring for the animals in Genesee County including providing resources to assist animal care at the Genesee County Animal Shelter.Volunteers For Animals mission is to provide care, comfort and protection to companion animals in need in Genesee County, NY by engaging the hands, hearts and minds of our community. VFA seeks to promote compassion and kindness as well as a clear opportunity for adoption.

Meet Candy

Genesee County Dog - Candy is a 45-pound petite Pit Bull mix. As you might expect, she is a very sweet and gentle girl. She is good on a leash and loves going for walks. She also loves playtime with her friend Eddie. When playtime is over, though, Candy loves to snuggle. Walking by your side or sitting in your lap, Candy is waiting to share her sweetness with you.  Candy is currently at the Shelter. And she will be spayed prior to adoption.

Adoption Process
There is a $60 NON-REFUNDABLE FEE for all animals which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered there is a $35 REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT upon proof of surgery. An adoption application must be filled out at the Shelter by the person wishing to adopt the animal. Once the application has been reviewed and approved the potential adopter may visit and meet any of the animals.
