To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application  HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see  HERE Age: 5 Months (as of 3/27/2024) Weight: 38.2 Lbs (as of 3/30/2024) Location: RI   This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.   Introducing Charlie, the charming 5-month-old Bassett Heeler mix who was found in a ditch but quickly captured everyone’s hearts with his irresistible blend of sweetness and spunk.   This pint-sized dynamo boasts a stunning blond coat and those irresistibly short legs that add an extra dash of charm to his already endearing personality. Don't let his diminutive stature fool you—Charlie has plenty of puppy energy! Charlie is a social butterfly through and through. He gets along famously whether it's with kids, dogs, or even the family cat, spreading joy wherever he goes. And when it's time to wind down, there's nothing Charlie loves more than snuggling up for some well-deserved cuddle time. In his quest to conquer the world, Charlie has been shown to be housetrained in his current foster home. He does well crated for short increments during the day. With patience and positive reinforcement, he's making steady progress, proving that even the most spirited pups can learn to be model citizens.   With those short legs and boundless enthusiasm, Charlie is a true testament to the saying that good things come in small packages. With love, patience, and plenty of playtime, this little whirlwind is sure to capture hearts wherever he roams.   Charlie's foster mom says he is a huge snuggle bug, loves to give kisses, happy boy, gets along with cat, dogs and kids. He’s a great listener, he’s learning sit, down and come right now, and doing fabulous! He’s very food motivated.    Charlie's Story: Found in a ditch but rescued with love, Charlie is a shining example of resilience and the transformative power of compassion. With each wag of his tail and each sweet kiss, he reminds us that every dog deserves a second chance at happiness.   An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see  HERE  for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
