Meet Ripley Puerto Rico

Ripley was born around May 8, 2023, and might top out in the 30-35 pound range when done growing. On June 3, 2023,  our rescue partner in Puerto Rico received a call from the Caguas Office of Emergency Management.  They had just rescued a Mom and her puppies from a very dangerous area.  They rescued them through a hole in a fence where it was very dense brush too thick to get through.  Rescue efforts took a long time to get them all. They asked for help since their office didn’t have funds or supplies for them.  Love For Paws took them all in and got them to a safe foster home with Mara, and they were also able to see the vet 2 times while they were with her and her daughter Amanda. They stayed there for about 4 weeks until they were old enough to fly to Joyful Rescues to find forever homes.  Flight Angels Jeanne and Marybeth flew to San Juan to pick them up. They are very social fun puppies - everything you would expect in a puppy! The Mom is a 15-pound chihuahua mix.  We don’t know anything about the Dad, but he was most likely bigger than the Mom.  At 8 weeks old, the largest puppy is Reilly at 9 pounds, and the other 3 puppies, Ruby, Ripley, and Rosie are all 6 pounds.  They are healthy and playful and ready for a home.  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $600.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list.
