Buffalo CARES was started by 7 people who have worked together for years at various other rescues. We started this rescue because we wanted to make sure our rescue was run the right way. We saw a need for a rescue in the Buffalo, NY area that would help & rescue local dogs. The majority of our animals are local animals.

Meet Bristol! Hello, Buffalo! I’m Bristol—an adorable Lab/Hound mix with a heart full of love and a personality to match. I live with my amazing foster family, which includes a mom, a dad, two little humans (ages 3 and 7), and three awesome resident dogs. I get along with everyone and absolutely adore being part of the pack! My foster parents say I have the perfect balance of playful energy and sweet, snuggly charm. Some of my favorite things include: Playing with toys Chewing on my trusty Nylabone Running around with my doggy friends Cuddling up on the couch for naps I’m still learning about all the wonderful things that come with living in a home. I'm doing really well in my crate at night and when my family is out, and I'm making great progress on potty training. I’m also starting to learn basic commands and how to walk nicely on a leash. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and playful pup to join your family, I might just be the perfect match. I can’t wait to find my forever home — maybe it’s with you? Adoption Process
All adoptions require, reference checks, vet reference checks, home visits, meet & greets. From there we will determine if that applicant is right for the dog they are interested in. At the adoption, a contract will be signed and an adoption fee will be paid. Fee's are based on the specific dog. Puppies, adults, bully breeds or special needs.
