Since our humble beginnings in December 2002, Joyful Rescues has grown into a 501(c)3 non-profit corporate team of volunteer animal lovers reaching out to help homeless dogs, puppies, cats and kittens in need of love, affection and forever homes. We are a no-kill shelter – meaning we never euthanize for space. Our primary goals here at Joyful Rescues are to re-home pets and save them from becoming homeless in the future, educate the public on pet care and spaying/neutering to control the pet overpopulation, to spay/neuter every pet before they leave us and spay/neuter as many pets, belonging to the public, as possible within our means.

Meet Carter Golden

Carter was born around December 17 2024 and we feel he will be a big boy perhaps topping out around 85-90 pounds.  Carter was purchased from an online puppymill and it was soon discovered the human child was allergic to him.    Carter is beyond adorable and as sweet as they come.   You will have normal puppy training to do but Carter is eager to please and very smart.   Carter did get sick in the car on the trip to JR however it was also only the 2nd time he had ever been in a car (the 1st being his ride home from the puppymill).  Several quick easy trips in the car should help Carter get used to car rides and lessen his carsickness.  Carter did beautifully with the children in the home and is doing wonderfully with the other dogs here and he needs another fun dog pal in his life going forward.   He also did wonderfully with the cats that he's met.  This is all we know so far and we will be learning as we go!    The Adoption Fee for this dog is $700.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list.
