Joyful Rescues, Inc.

Since our humble beginnings in December 2002, Joyful Rescues has grown into a 501(c)3 non-profit corporate team of volunteer animal lovers reaching out to help homeless dogs, puppies, cats and kittens in need of love, affection and forever homes. We are a no-kill shelter – meaning we never euthanize for space. Our primary goals here at Joyful Rescues are to re-home pets and save them from becoming homeless in the future, educate the public on pet care and spaying/neutering to control the pet overpopulation, to spay/neuter every pet before they leave us and spay/neuter as many pets, belonging to the public, as possible within our means.

Meet Herbie Smith

Herbie was born about February 1, 2022 and will fill out to about 25 lbs.  This sweet, little, guy came to us from dog control in a nearby town after Herbie and another Beagle were noticed wandering for the last two, bitter cold, weeks in January.  His condition was dehydrated and very underweight and even though he'd spent a few days with dog control he was still very hungry once here.  Sadly, the other Beagle was never caught.  When no owner surfaced Herbie came here to find a better home than he had before with someone that would care for him and keep him safe.   Herbie, and all Beagles, need a fenced in yard.  He is just adorable with his tri-color including some very pretty white and tan ticking.  He is wonderful with the other dogs and seems to be a nice, medium energy that would do well with a dog pal or as an only dog.  He was decent on leash and seems to be doing well on house training with the dog door, but you should expect a bit of work in this department with all these changes.  Herbie is your normal, happy go lucky, Beagle and is very human oriented and loves to snuggle when the day is done.  Herbie is a lovebug!  HA!  Couldn't resist!   Update:  Herbie's favorite toy os the day is a rope toy with a black rubber ball with a large jingle bell inside - too fun! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link "Special Instructions to Seller" if you want to note a particular pet
