Meet Pebbles NJ

This is Pebbles and here is her story... We received a message from a local Animal Control Officer saying she had a 9-1-1 urgent surrender of an abused pitbull. We agreed to meet the dog for an assessment. What our Kennel Manager witnessed took her breath away. Hardly more than a puppy herself at just a year old, used for breeding and exploited for profit, Pebbles was found emaciated and neglected, with pressure sores, stained fur and skin burns from being forced to lie in a pool of her own urine. This kind of abuse doesn’t happen overnight. It’s unfathomable how someone could walk past this suffering dog in their home day after day and not even toss her a scrap of food. Pebbles served her purpose and when she wasn’t useful anymore, was tossed away. Without mercy. Without conscience. The owner dumped the dog and left without an upward glance. And yet this sweet, gentle soul just wants to be loved. Pebbles is incredibly trusting despite what she has been through. She has no problem snuggling up to everyone she has met. She loved each dog she met, slept through the night, and has been eating and taking all of the treats. Pebbles is on the road to recovery before she can be adopted out - but her story needs to be known & we cannot wait to see the lucky family that gets to adopt Pebbles!
