Meet Lilly Brown
Lilly was born around August 30, 2023 and might top out in the 65-70 pound range when done growing. Lilly was purchased by a young lady living in an apartment and sure Lilly was cute as could be until she reached about 6 months old and then her activity level was bursting at the seams and she had to go. We waited about a week for Lilly to settle and get that pent up energy out before we wrote this description. She has settled, but she is still a bit of a wild child and will absolutely need another fun dog to play with and it wouldn't hurt if the humans were on the fun side too! There is simply no aggression and she'd be great with kids, but not those little tipsy kids as they would be likely to get knocked over now and then. She is fantastic with all the dogs here large and small alike. We haven't seen Lilly actually take a swim yet, but she has done a lot of wading and splashing in the creek. She rode fine in the car on her over one hour ride here and she is one of those dogs that will hang with you while you are outside doing your chores. Lilly knows sit really well and she is smart and could learn about anything you wish to teach her. Lilly is EXHUBERANT and loves life!!! She doesn't just wag her tail when she's happy - she moves her whole body!!!! She is going to be perfect for someone out there - hope to hear from you soon. UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM: She is definitely a high energy pup and would do great with an active family. She has been getting a long walk in the morning and a walk with extra running with Willy in the afternoon and she has done really well at home with no destructive behaviors. Her exercise was limited yesterday due to the temperature and we could tell she had a lot more energy but she was happy to have a “puzzle ball” with dinner and a kong for some mental stimulation to tire her out. She has also done really well with being crated and aside from some whimpering when we initially put her in at night and when she’s ready to get up in the morning, we haven’t caught any barking when crated at night or during the day. We have been working on training with sit, down, crate, and touch/come and she is picking up on everything very quickly and seems eager to learn and very food and people motivated. We are still working on not jumping but she has gotten much better. She has also come a long way with meeting people and even met our neighbor for the first time this morning and didn’t hit the deck or submissively pee! She met our 8yo neighbor the other day and was really excited. Her leash walking is coming along well but she definitely gets easily distracted and there’s lots of zig zagging while walking but much less pulling when on a short leash. She doesn’t really pull at all when we give her the full length of the leash. We also had the chance to take her on a car ride (without Willy and uncrated but buckled in to a dog seatbelt) and she was definitely nervous and pacing but not sick or anything bad so we will keep going for car rides and work on it. Overall she is doing really well and seems to be settled into our routine. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $__600.00__. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability.
