Adoption Pending. You can see more of these beautiful dogs by clicking on Rescue Dogs. NYS Registered Rescue # RR102 Children in the home must be at least 6 years old. Puppies are ready to join their fur-ever homes at 11 weeks old. Female puppies will not be placed in homes that already have a female dog in residence. Puppies will not be adopted in pairs. Previous dog experience is required, preferably large breed. Just in time for warm weather, we have the Hawaiian litter! Hula, like the Hawaiian dance, will mesmerize you with her black lined eyes and her enchanting gaze. Hula came into rescue with her 6 siblings and mama who were out on their own until 8 weeks of age. Hula, the smallest of the litter, is a true lady who prefers to sit back and take everything in. Don’t let that innocent look fool you because she will jump right in there and play with her brother Maui and the older dogs in her foster home. She follows the older ones around and is learning all kinds of great things, like how to come when called, go to the door to be let out and how snuggly the big dog beds are to take a leisurely nap in. Hula has learned to go to her crate for bed and nap time, and to stay in all night with no accidents. Like her brother, she is a very smart little girl. She is especially cute when she crawls across the room on her belly to kiss up to her foster mom or one of the older dogs. At meal time Hula gets excited and runs to her crate and patiently waits on her dish. This darling girl is quickly learning that she is now safe and how to play with toys, sleep in a warm bed, get plenty of food, and most important she is learning what love from a human is! Hula loves other dogs and cats so would prefer a home with one or the other and humans to continue to teach her to love and trust and how to be a great dog. If her eyes could talk Hula would be saying, please put in an application and take me home to live with you. I promise I will be the most devoted loving companion you could ever ask for! About Us: National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) is not a shelter. We are a not-for-profit, tax-exempt coalition of Pyr rescuers and rescue groups. We save Pyrs and Pyr mixes across the country and place them in approved foster homes so we know how they will interact with your family. Please consider adopting or fostering. Every dog who is fostered or adopted makes room for another Pyr coming out of a kill shelter. Prior to adoption, NGPR dogs are fostered for a minimum of two weeks (usually more), spayed or neutered and fully vetted. Dogs coming from out of area are certified with a USDA health certificate before going to their new homes. Our rescuers adhere to the highest placement standards and will take back any dog whose adoption does not succeed. Visit www.nationalpyr.org to learn more about us, our mission and our breed.
