Sierra County Humane Society

We are a no-kill nonprofit animal rescue that houses companion animals on our grounds and in foster homes until we find them their forever homes. I have a masters in business administration and took over running the organization after our past Director passed away. I was a volunteer worker and animal care provider here for 2 years prior to joining the board and taking over running the organization.

Meet Cowboy

Mykayla needs to rehome her dog, Cowboy. Call Mykayla at 254-396-0416 to discuss adopting Cowboy. All information for this Courtesy Post has been provided by Mykayla. Cowboy lives with her. He is up to date on vaccines and Cowboy is neutered. Mykayla said he needs to be the only dog in the home and no young children. She needs to rehome Cowboy because she can longer trust him in her home as he is attacking her other male dog. Cowboy is friendly with all people. He is house trained. He is not good with cats. Cowboy is a huge cuddle bug and loves to sleep in the bed. He is also kennel trained and does well when kenneled. Cowboy loves playing with toys and is calm when needed. He loves kisses. She said his only bad habit is that he jumps up on the counter and counter surfs to eat food if she leaves food on the counter. If she leaves food out accidentally she knows Cowboy will eat it. Call Mykayla at 254-396-0416 to discuss adopting Cowboy.

Adoption Process
We have a $75 adoption fee. We have an application for adoption, an adoption waiver, and a sterilization contract for any animal adopted prior to sterilization age. We do home visits and provide post adoption counseling to ensure successful adoptions.
