We are a municipal animal shelter for the City of Las Vegas. We contract with our county to provide animal services. We are a small shelter and are constantly full and trying to rehome as many friendly, happy, adoptable dogs as we can. We have not had to euthanize for space but our numbers are making it difficult to keep on. Our staff are dedicated and caring.

Meet Mushu, a stunning 2-year-old Akita weighing 72 lbs. This confident and gentle guy is great with kids and gets along well with other dogs—though he’s not afraid to set boundaries and stand his ground. Mushu is incredibly smart, friendly, curious, and adventurous, with an independent streak and a bit of stubbornness. He’s looking for an owner who can provide structure and guidance to help him thrive.
