Available Sweet Quiet Chihuahua Approximate DOB 3/1/2024 – About 8 lbs Dixie is sweet, loving, and just wants to be in your lap all the time. Very person oriented, smart, and treat motivated. Enjoys being with her loved one and just snuggling. Daisy is quite shy upon meeting new people but warms up in time and then loves unconditionally. Dixie is leash trained, crate trained, house trained, dog door trained, and smart.    Dixie has a very quiet, sweet, loving temperament. Dixie loves to play with other dogs but is more of a person dog. She would do wonderful in a home with a gentle, patient person she can follow around and cuddle on the couch with. Don't get me wrong she does love playing with toys and the other dogs but when it comes right down to it she only as eyes for her loved one. Please be aware Dixie is very shy so will not show well. Adopters who want to meet her need to be ready to meet a scared dog who will not want to go to them initially and will take at least a few days to see her sweet loving personality. She did come to us due to being too fearful at the shelter she was at so she wasn't letting anyone handle her. Once transferred she quickly warmed up (I think it took a day or two) but is still fearful with strangers. She is a total lap dog so once bonds with you she will want to be held and in your lap or right next to you all the time.  Dixie and Trixie came in together and we believe they may be sisters even though they have totally different personalities. It would be nice if they were adopted together but not a requirement. Spayed, microchipped, and current on all vaccinations - Fee $200 We do welcome out-of-state adoptions. If you have other dogs it is recommended you bring them out to the meeting but not required.  Steps for adoption: Read bio, email to request application or download it from the main website, fill it out completely and email it back, once approved you will receive an email asking you when you would like to come out to meet the pet, schedule an appointment, directions will be emailed or text to you.
