Introducing Penelope, the petite explorer with ears that touch the sky! At just 1 1/2 years old and 11 lbs, she's a smart cookie who loves to sniff out new adventures. Penelope is a pro at house-training and crate-training, and she cruises through car rides and walks with grace on the leash. While Penelope is friendly with other dogs, she's more of an independent woman who prefers her own space rather than being a playmate to them. She is currently in a foster home with two other dogs and while initially cautious of them, she has been gradually warming up to her furry siblings. Penelope does get a bit nervous in new situations and with new people; tending towards a careful, slow approach in unfamiliar situations. However, once she gets to know her human companions, she is a true sidekick to them taking the velcro dog approach. Penelope prefers to be close by her trusted humans at all times or better yet, cozily perched on their lap! She is typically a quiet pup when with her people but beware a slight vocal protest when her beloved humans step out—she's a pup who wears her heart on her sleeve! Affectionate and gentle, Penelope enjoys the calm, mellow, quiet life—whether indoors or lounging on the deck. She's not a fan of loud noises and appreciates a serene environment. She doesn't mind being carried but does have a cute little strut while walking, too.
