Meet Booker

Location: NY Meet Booker, a one-ish year old cattle dog who came from a shelter in New Jersey. He was picked up as a stray so we don’t know much about his history, but since getting to know him in foster care, we have learned that he is a very sweet, good-natured cattle dog who loves humans and dogs. Booker weighs around 30 pounds. Booker is friendly to everyone he has met – humans and dogs (he has not been around cats or kids so we can’t say for sure on that)! He loves to play with anyone who will play back, but he also listens very well to older dogs who do not want to play. Booker is a medium energy cattle dog. He will play fetch if you want to, but it also happy to go for a walk or hike and then hang out at home. He loves rolling in the grass and sunning on nice days. He is still a cattle dog though, and let us know by nipping at our feet the first few days he was here. That faded away, but because of that initial behavior, we think he would be best in a home without young kids. Booker sleeps quietly in his crate overnight, and is fine to spend a couple of hours at a time in his crate during the day. Continued crate training is recommended for Booker as he is still working on his potty training. We suspect he may have been an outdoor dog in his past life, but he is learning the ways of being a house dog, slowly but surely. Booker is being fostered in Taghkanic, NY. If you would like to learn more, please email his foster home at [email protected]. Complete an Application: https://www.acdra.org/adoption-application
