Northstar Pet Rescue

In many areas of the country, especially in the South, the situation for animals is desperate: Chained outside and starving, homeless and running loose, or just simply no longer wanted and abandoned in an overburdened and underfunded facility that can’t possibly take another. For these animals, there is not much hope…except to look in the night sky for the North Star, their only way out. We are a group of passionate volunteers committed to saving these innocent dogs and finding them a new forever home. NorthStar Pet Rescue was founded in 2017, and although we might be a relatively new name among New Jersey animal rescues, you may recognize some of us from the work we’ve done volunteering with other rescues to help animals over the past decade. We are 100% dedicated to operating in an safe, transparent, and ethical manner and to ensuring the best veterinary practices are followed with regards to the care and transport of our animals. Olive is a gentle and loving 14-year-old female Australian Cattle Dog looking for her forever home. She has been a devoted companion to her previous owner, bringing years of love, comfort, and loyalty. Now, as her family navigates a challenging transition, Olive is searching for a special person to share her golden years. She's a sweet couch potato who loves wondering around outside or just chillin' with her people.  ======================================= About Olive: 1.      Age: 14 years old 2.      Breed: Australian Cattle Dog 3.      Health: Spayed and up-to-date on her rabies vaccine. Olive has arthritis and has had ACL surgery on both legs (2011/2012), but she’s otherwise in great health and has been recently seen by the vet. 4.      Temperament: Gentle, sweet, and incredibly loyal. Olive thrives on companionship and will happily spend her days by your side. Ideal Home: Olive needs to be the only pet in a home where she can be loved and doted on. She would make the perfect companion for someone seeking a calm, affectionate friend to share quiet moments with. Olive would do best in a home with older kids. Cats are an unknown. Why Olive? Adoption Process
Potential adopters will submit an adoption application. The adopters information will be screened including veterinary and personal references. After the first round of screening they will get the chance to meet the pet. If it is a good match, as deemed by NSPR volunteers, the adopter will complete an adoption contract and pay the fee of 375.00. All animals will be spayed/neutered and fully vetted prior to adoption. The only exception would be small puppies in which case the adopter will submit an additional deposit refundable upon proof of spay/neuter. In the event an animal is no longer wanted, the adoption contract will stipulate that the animal always gets returned to us, and is never sold, given away, or surrendered to another rescue or shelter.
