Burlington County Animal Alliance

Burlington County Animal Alliance is a private, independent, 501(3)(c) nonprofit animal advocacy group, that was founded in 1999 by Lorraine Schrieber and Barb Giano who have a love for animals. To date, we have around 60 members of BCAA. We focus primarily on rescue and adoption of shelter dogs and cats in high kill shelters and surrounding areas in New Jersey. Our main focus is to make the public aware of the numbers of homeless dogs and cats there are in shelters and to promote adoption of these animals. We advocate spaying and neutering of all companion animals to counteract the overpopulation of dogs and cats and to end the tragedy of euthanizing healthy, unwanted companion pets.

Meet Portia

Hamlet (m), Cordelia (f), Beatrice (f) and Portia (f) are beautiful Husky siblings born on March 25, 2025 to PB Husky mom Ophelia. Mom is a PB Husky and while we cannot say for certain they are PB pups, mom was picked up by AC running with (2) other male PB Huskies. The shelter realized Ophelia was pregnant and ready to have her pups and reached out to a local rescue so that mom could have her pups safely in a foster home and not at the shelter. The pups are sweet and socialized and have been raised by their mom in foster care. They are now ready for their new forever homes. Portia's foster mom says that Portia is independent, so sweet and smart and has boundless puppy energy. She is doing great on housebreaking and picking up on commands quickly. She adores her human foster siblings as well as her foster canine sibling. Before applying to adopt one of the pups, please do some research on the characteristics and personality of raising a Husky to see if they meet your living needs. This breed does require daily brushings and professional grooming. Due to their breed, fenced yards are a requirment and no condos or apartments. Mom Ophelia is very sweet and loving and will also be available for adoption. Photo(s) of mom also pictured. If interested, please submit our online adoption application.
