Burlington County Animal Alliance

Burlington County Animal Alliance is a private, independent, 501(3)(c) nonprofit animal advocacy group, that was founded in 1999 by Lorraine Schrieber and Barb Giano who have a love for animals. To date, we have around 60 members of BCAA. We focus primarily on rescue and adoption of shelter dogs and cats in high kill shelters and surrounding areas in New Jersey. Our main focus is to make the public aware of the numbers of homeless dogs and cats there are in shelters and to promote adoption of these animals. We advocate spaying and neutering of all companion animals to counteract the overpopulation of dogs and cats and to end the tragedy of euthanizing healthy, unwanted companion pets.

Meet Roxy

Meet Roxy! Roxy is a sweet and happy girl who’s ready for a fresh start. She’s about 4 years old, weighs around 50 pounds, and has a gentle, playful spirit. Roxy was surrendered to the shelter in December 2022 to a place that called themselves a rescue but actually never let the dogs leave. She has spent most of her life in a kennel, which means many everyday things—like lamps, televisions, and even cuddling—are still new and fascinating to her. But she’s learning quickly and has already discovered that a big, comfy dog bed is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Needless to say, she is happy that her shelter stay is behind her.She’s friendly with other dogs, loves to play, and does well with kids. Though she may be a little shy when meeting new people, she warms up with patience and kindness. Roxy is blossoming as she explores the world outside the shelter, and she’s ready to experience what it means to truly be part of a family. She’ll make a wonderful, loyal companion for someone who’s ready to show her what love and home really mean. Apply at bcaaofnj.org
