Meet Tadpole

Meet Tadpole! This 1-year old happy-go-lucky little man came from local animal control after his owner could no longer care for him and is magnificent in the most lovey-dovey of ways! Tadpole is seriously an affection-seeking species all his own. He loves people, affection, snuggling, bananas, cuddling, cantaloupe, and nuzzling – to name a few. Tad’s favorite toys? People. Ok, he likes a good nylabone too, but would gladly trade any toy for human affection.  Spotting a tadpole is a classic sign that Spring has arrived, and we are thrilled to have this fishlike lovebug in our midst. Tad is (obviously) stunning! His aquatic blue-grey eyes are like two pools so deep that you might dive in and never come up for air. And he is on the itty-bitty side at a compact 50 lbs, appreciating a sweater in cooler weather.  Tadpole is a fresh-faced juvenile, but he must be an old soul…his activity level is much lower than other dogs his age. He still gets bouts of energy and wants to play and run around but is super content to just hang out with you while you do chores around the house or work on the computer. That being said, he REALLY loves his walks and walks REALLY well on leash. He enjoys a mall-walking speedy pace with the other dogs but also enjoys leisurely strolls sniffin’ around and checking out the neighborhood. Occasionally he will pull to a scent when the sniffin’ is good, but he is so little that he is easy to manage. And he has no reaction to seeing other dogs on his walks. He is endearingly inquisitive and loves to watch what you’re doing at all times. But his favorite activity, by far, is being loved on by anyone and everyone! He likes to sit ON you in the evening while you watch TV, because sitting next to you doesn’t maximize closeness.  Tad’s perfect day? Just hanging out in the house with one of his people, maintaining physical contact for a good portion of the time, and letting you swim in the gentleness of his gaze. He is an easy-going dog and is comfortable just existing close to his humans. Tad is housetrained, crate trained, non-destructive, doesn’t get into things, and has a friendly and curious nature. He is great at meeting new friends. Though Tad is living with canine foster siblings (cats unknown), he doesn’t love sharing his toys with other dogs. Though Tadpole loves fresh water (see what we did there?), he oddly doesn’t love sharing it with other dogs. He is a people person, but coexists fantastically with other 4-legged friends, as long as the toys and water are managed by the humans of the house. Tad is a happy little guy who just seems pretty content to hang out with his people. Due to his lack of history, older kids would be best for this playful pollywog. Tadpole’s top 3 priorities: 1. A family who isn’t bothered by Tad’s lack of boundaries regarding personal space and will gladly accommodate a 50-lb lap dog. 2. A family who doesn’t spend long hours away from home and is content to have a low-key friend as a constant companion. 3. A family who will appreciate what an easy and spectacular dog Tad is and will show it through an all-out snugglefest at every possible opportunity.

Adoption Process
Adoptions Crops and Flops Rescue, Inc. prides ourselves on spending extra time with our thorough adoption process to make sure our pups and their forever families are set up for a lifetime of happiness. Being a foster-home based rescue means we understand our dogs’ personalities in a home setting and what type of environment would set them up for success. We go the extra mile with our adoption process to understand our adopters’ households to make a match made in heaven. While we understand that looks can be important, we focus our efforts on finding a match based on household, lifestyle, and temperament for the best chance of a happily-ever-after. Our dog adoption specialists are invested in our adopters and are volunteering their time to help make a great forever match. Adoption Process Our adoption process consists of the following: • Complete an Application • Reference Checks: Both veterinary and personal references are required • Phone Interview: Typically lasts 20-30 minutes with one of our knowledgeable dog adoption specialists for us to understand our adopters household • Home Visit: Our home checks are conducted both virtually and in person, include verification of home ownership, and usually take around 30 minutes to complete • Dog Meet: Adopters will be guided to meeting a dog that would be a good match – all resident family members are required to be present • Next Steps: Subsequent steps are determined at initial dog meet, especially when you have a resident dog • Adoption: We ask our adopters to wait 24-hours before scheduling an adoption to make sure all family members are committed – if all agree, we schedule the adoption as soon as volunteer schedules will allow Adoption Donations All Crops and Flops Rescue, Inc. dogs come spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines and monthly preventatives, have received fecal testing and 4DX testing for tick-borne illnesses, and are sent home with an extra 2 month supply of heartworm preventatives.
