While she tends to be shy when first meeting people, once this adorable girl warms up she turns into the lap dog of your dreams. Sweet Pea is a lower-energy gal who’s looking for an understanding home where she can take things at her own pace as she settles in.Sweet Pea LOVES other dogs—she feels happy and confident when she has canine friends to play with, and she enjoys romping around the yard or sharing toys with her buddies. She has ignored cats, which the cats appreciate. Sweet Pea is timid as she gets to know new people, but she is food motivated and will likely warm up fastest to the person who feeds her most consistently. She hasn’t met children, but she would likely do fine with dog-savvy kids who will let her get comfortable and approach them when she feels ready. Once Sweet Pea has a chance to get used to new people, her favorite activity is to be on a lap, offering her gorgeous smile to her humans.Sweet Pea has been working hard on her crate training. She is crated occasionally during the day and consistently overnight, taking a few minutes to settle in after the door closes. Sweet Pea does sometimes choose to hang out in her crate on her own, so with consistency, patience, and time, it’s likely that she could be fully crate trained quickly. She is house trained and has been working on her leash walking—she would love a family that will help her continue to build her confidence while exploring the world on walks!Sweet Pea is a laid back pup who is excited to bring her big heart to an understanding home.
