Meet Butch

Meet Butch! This 13-years young apricot-colored senior pitizen came to us from local animal control after his owner passed away and he is AMAZING! We took one look at this senior gem and knew he needed to be in a home. When Butch entered our rescue, he was clearly traumatized by the events that had transpired in his stable life and was completely shut down. But it didn’t take long for us to see the light in his eyes as he got his footing in his foster home and realized he was safe. In fact, this golden ager has the sweetest golden eyes and the best smile, and we have worked to get him 100% vetted and feeling his best, thanks to a generous grant from Grey Muzzle Association.  Butch is a mature gentleman and has charmed everyone he has met with his docile nature and resilience. He is a big boy who joyfully breaks into a (short-lived) gallop when excited and loves getting scratched behind the ears. And the way he rolls around on a sunny patch of lawn…we figure he must have been a professional in a past life. Old-timers are the best! Butch is 100% house trained, sleeps through the night, chews only his toys, and has limited demands. He just needs someone that will take a chance on him and give him a warm and comfortable home to call his own for all of his days. Due to his age, and the aches and pains of being an aging adult, older or no kids would be best for this special and distinguished soul.  Butch’s top 3 priorities: 1. A family who lets him live out all of his retirement days doing EXACTLY what he wants…inside and out! He would love a fenced-in yard or secure deck with a great sun spot for lounging. 2. A family who will love and cherish this sweet soul after all that he has been through to make him feel safe. 3. A family dedicated to semi-annual senior vet appointments to make sure Butch lives his best life for all of his days.

Adoption Process
Adoptions Crops and Flops Rescue, Inc. prides ourselves on spending extra time with our thorough adoption process to make sure our pups and their forever families are set up for a lifetime of happiness. Being a foster-home based rescue means we understand our dogs’ personalities in a home setting and what type of environment would set them up for success. We go the extra mile with our adoption process to understand our adopters’ households to make a match made in heaven. While we understand that looks can be important, we focus our efforts on finding a match based on household, lifestyle, and temperament for the best chance of a happily-ever-after. Our dog adoption specialists are invested in our adopters and are volunteering their time to help make a great forever match. Adoption Process Our adoption process consists of the following: • Complete an Application • Reference Checks: Both veterinary and personal references are required • Phone Interview: Typically lasts 20-30 minutes with one of our knowledgeable dog adoption specialists for us to understand our adopters household • Home Visit: Our home checks are conducted both virtually and in person, include verification of home ownership, and usually take around 30 minutes to complete • Dog Meet: Adopters will be guided to meeting a dog that would be a good match – all resident family members are required to be present • Next Steps: Subsequent steps are determined at initial dog meet, especially when you have a resident dog • Adoption: We ask our adopters to wait 24-hours before scheduling an adoption to make sure all family members are committed – if all agree, we schedule the adoption as soon as volunteer schedules will allow Adoption Donations All Crops and Flops Rescue, Inc. dogs come spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines and monthly preventatives, have received fecal testing and 4DX testing for tick-borne illnesses, and are sent home with an extra 2 month supply of heartworm preventatives. Adoption donations are as follows: • Whippersnapper Puppies (up to 11 months) $500 • Adult House Hippos (1 year – 7 years) $400 • Senior Pitizens (8 years+) $300
