The Animal Rescue Alliance

A non-profit 501C3, all volunteer group dedicated to helping homeless pets in the Greater Kansas City area. Our organization is the result of an alliance between several rescuers in the Kansas City region who share the same goal of ending animal suffering and homelessness.In addition to rescuing pets from difficult situations, we offer courtesy listings in Pet Finder, facilitate low-cost spays and neuterings, work on transfers and transports with existing rescue groups, help individuals and organizations promote, screen and educate potential adopters, fund raise to help pets with special needs, offer guidance and information about animal rescue, organize events, etc.

This sweet boy came from an intense hoarding situation in Oklahoma. When he first came to us he didn't understand anything about being a normal dog. Walking on a leash, getting pets from humans, going outside to potty, everything was so scary for this guy. However, with the help of some other canine friends, Darius quickly came out of his shell and started learning that human touch is okay! Now he LOVES attention from his people and even gives a BIG sigh if you're not paying enough attention to him. Darius is great with other animals, and needs a canine companion in his forever home to help him continue to learn and grow. With a little time, Darius will be the perfect addition to a variety of families looking to add a furry companion!  Approximate Birthdate:  April 2023 Adoption Fee: $200 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Adoption Process
Those interested in adopting must fill out an online application, we then schedule an initial meeting with them and the animal, followed by a home visit. An adoption contract is required and the adoption fees range from $65 to $250.
