Meet Rita-CL

RITA is a young (2 yr), small (60 lb) German Shepherd girl who’s both gorgeous AND super sweet and loving!  Her foster mom calls her a “little gem” –  she adores people, loves other dogs (small and large), is amazingly well behaved overall, is kennel trained (though she prefers to be out), house trained, and a fast learner.  In just 2 weeks she learned to sit for her meals and treats, and is pretty good at sitting at car and house doors (unless she gets excited, then has to be reminded). . She has a nice medium energy – part puppy but also part adult.  She loves to play ball, adores playing keep-away with you, always wants to play with a doggie buddy, and loves going for walks.  She has decent leash manners and loves car rides.  She doesn’t chew on furniture or woodwork, but will occasionally chew on a shoe when she gets bored.  She’s also a canine “foodie” – if you leave so much as an empty food bag or dish around, she’ll find it. . She MUST have a home with another dog who likes to play!  This girl loves, loves, loves to play with other dogs and goes to a half day of doggie day care most days because the other dog in her foster home isn't a player.  She'll also watch your other dog and do what they do, so ideally her doggie sibling will have good manners, so that Rita will mimic those.  She loves the outdoors and would be the perfect addition for a family who likes to spend time outdoors.  She needs a fenced yard where she and her family/dog buddy can play, and she’d be a great candidate for a doggie door.  She doesn’t bark much and is pretty quiet – we didn’t hear her bark at all for the first 2 weeks. . She's pretty much a velcro dog and will follow you everywhere (though it's lessened somewhat and we expect it to continue gradually lessening as she becomes confident that her family will ALWAYS be there for her).  Her last owners (one of three or four she's had!) threw her outdoors 24/7 and didn’t have a fenced yard, so she  roamed the neighborhood, making friends everywhere but constantly crossing busy streets and dodging cars (so dangerous)!  She would adore having someone home part of the day, or maybe a parent who works from home.  .  DETAILS:  Young (2 yrs).  Small (60 lbs).  Fully vetted -- spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, microchipped.   CATS:  she met a cat and was very curious, but when the cat swiped at her she jumped back.  Seems to just need training with cats. . Rita is ready and waiting for you – ready to love you and be loved by you, have fun daily with a doggie sibling who also loves to play, and generally adore you, her humans!   NOTE:  THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING.  RITA IS NOT IN KCPAWS RESCUE, BUT CONTACT US FOR MORE INFORMATION AND HER CONTACT INFO.
