Perry County Humane Society of Illinois

We are a no kill shelter who aims to educate the public about responsible pet ownership & the importance of spaying and neutering pets. We encourage people to adopt pets instead of shopping for pets! We promote keeping pets healthy through routine vet care, getting adequate nutrition and exercise, and we recruit volunteers on a regular basis to work with our animals. We have very few employees (only 2 currently) and run almost entirely on a volunteer staff.

Meet Rue

We know this gal is underweight, and we anticipate she'll put on another 8 lbs after we have her a little longer. Rue is new to us and super sweet! She has ignored cats in the office, but we know she's not nice to ducks! She is very sweet & loving & likes to be held. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Adoption Process
Applicants must apply and pass a thorough screening process, which includes vet and personal reference checks. They must sign contracts and pay an adoption fee.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
