Tired Dog Rescue

We are a private rescue that starting years ago just rescuing Cocker Spaniels and Mini-Schnauzer but have now branched out to all small breeds although we still mostly have Cockers. We love animals and there is nothing in the world like taking a dog that has given up and cleaning them up and finding them the best home and getting the followup pics of them so happy.

Meet Pat

Hello!  My name is Pat!  I am a year and a half old black and tan Yorkshire Terrier.  I am a TINY guy, weighing in at 2.6 pounds.  I am heartworm negative and will be up to date on all my shots and neutered before adoption!  I am just a tiny little peanut and would love a home where they are fully respectful of my size!  I would love to be carried around and take adventures with you in your purse.  Yes, a real purse dog!  I also love car rides!   Let’s do some adventures!  I am not leash trained but could learn fast…although, I’d much rather be in your arms. I do good with other dogs and I’m just a very easy-going guy.  I would need a home with only smaller dogs as a large dog could accidentally injure me.  I would also need a home with no small children for the same reason.  I have a big personality but my tiny body is quite fragile.  It is unknown how I am with cats, but that can be tested before adoption. I am not fully house trained yet but working hard on it!  My foster mom puts belly bands on me and I’m really good about going outside for #2! I love sleeping in bed with my foster mom on my own little furry pillow.  Sometimes she puts the pillow in the sunshine and that makes for wonderful naps as well!  I would need a house with a very secure yard.  If a small bunny could fit through a crack or gap in the fence, so could I.  Or I would need a home willing to work with me on leash training so I could do my business safely.  I definitely cannot be left outside for extended periods or unsupervised.  I’m very tiny and even a hawk flying over could swoop me away! I am a Yorkshire terrier, which means I will need lifetime grooming.  I don’t shed, but my hair will grow long and luxurious.  So, I will need frequent brushing or trips to the groomer to keep my hair trimmed and beautiful.   If you think tiny little Pat would fit wonderfully in your home, please apply today!  www.tireddogrescue.org
