Meet Lola Mae

Hello!  My name is Lola Mae!  I am a twelve-year-old female terrier mix who is spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on my vaccinations!  I am ready to be your new companion!   This is not really where I expected to be at this stage in my life, but things happen, right?  I have an awesome foster family who has been taking the best care of me, but I feel like I've been in foster care for too long.  I've been patiently waiting for over six months!    Now, I'm a patient lady, but I feel like I need to take matters into my own paws!  Want to know the best part??  A precious TDR angel has sponsored my adoption fee to the right home to make it that much easier for me to find my forever home!  I am so close to finding my human, I just know it!   Now I may not be a puppy, I may not be a floofy little doodle, I may look like a long list of other "common" dogs....but I promise I am so much more!  I am so ready to show you!    A little about me...I'm a fun size at approximately 19 pounds and I have beautiful short hair that does not require trips to the groomer - that's a plus! I may be on the "older" side (pssssh)  but that is actually a plus too!!  That means I'm completely happy lounging around the house all day, I'm housebroke, and I won't be chewing up your furniture!     I enjoy the fine things in life and I'm longing for my own person to share them with!   Want to go for a leisurely walk - I'm your girl!  Nap time on the couch - I'm in!  Judge Judy marathon while eating popcorn and not getting out of pajamas all day???  I won't tell anyone our binging secrets!     I get along with other small dogs, but I really wouldn't mind being the only dog too.  I would love to have a person all to myself.  I promise to spoil you endlessly with my love and I would even let you dress me up for the holidays if you wanted.   Imagine the fun photos we could take!   I'm not a huge fan of kids though and would prefer a home with just quiet adults.  Speaking of quiet, storms still scare me a little, so I would love a human that will hug me and comfort me when those big booms happen.  I promise to return the favor to comfort you when you hear a bump in the night.  We will make a great team!   I've been through some things in my little life, and I would rather not talk about them, but they have left me a little skittish.  I don't like when dogs or humans come running up to me and don't have a problem letting them know I don't like it either.  A girl is allowed to have boundaries and little sass, right?  Overall, I am a calm girl and would love calm humans and calm dogs.  Let's all just be zen!    I do have a little arthritis (oh, the joys of aging) but I take a daily medication that keeps me moving like a young gal.  I also stress a little with lots of change and commotion, I probably wouldn't be the best as a travel companion but if you are a homebody like me, we will get along famously!     If you think Miss Lola Mae would be a good fit for your quiet, adult only home, please apply today!  We promise she's so worth it.  www.tireddogrescue.org
