I’m a longtime volunteer for Friends of Homeless Animals,, Rhode Island, and about two years ago I began working directly with a woman in rural Mississippi who runs a rescue called Wags. Now I exclusively help her

Meet Bella

Adoption donation: $799.   Bella is an adorable two year-old, likely a mix of Jack Russell  and Foxhound, who showed up in a rural neighborhood in Mississippi as a stray. She was so sweet and gentle we couldn’t believe someone wasn’t looking for her, but after multiple attempts to find her family no one came forward. When Wags took her to be spayed, it was discovered the Bella was pregnant, all too common in Mississippi dogs are dumped once they get pregnant. Bella had her puppies and has been a good mama! But the pups are older now and it’s time for sweet Bella  to find a loving home of her own.   Bella is everyone’s favorite! She’s a small girl, just 15 pounds, and full of personality. Bella is is in a foster home with children and other cats and dogs and she gets along great with everyone. She is the consummate family dog, she loves to snuggle! She loves bones and is almost completely potty. But will likely need a refresher when she adjusted to a new home . Bella is easy-going and gentle with the children and would make an awesome addition to any family.      Bella is still in Mississippi, but we are hoping to send her up on a transport next Saturday, May 10. It is a little early for Bella to be spayed since she only recently had her puppies so wags will pay for the procedure in the northeast at one of the clinics we use or if an adapter would like to use their own vet wag will reimburse what we pay at our clinic. Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 200 homeless and stray dogs. Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Most of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. We do have some of our dogs in foster homes in the northeast, we always need foster homes! For more information on adopting any of our Wags dogs please email [email protected]

Adoption Process
we have an adoption application and require a deposit while we check references, we do home visits or ask for videos, and FaceTime if we’re not able to get to the home.
