Meet Sophia
Meet Sophia: Your Loyal Shadow in WaitingHi there, I’m Sophia—a beautiful, loyal girl who’s ready to find a home that truly understands me. Life’s been a bit of a journey so far, and I’ve learned that I need a specific kind of environment to feel safe, secure, and able to thrive. At heart, I’m a fun-loving dog with a sweet smile and a talent for fetch! I’m also house-trained and know to do my business outside or on puppy pads. I’ve lived with other dogs before and could do so again with the right calm, respectful canine companion and a proper introduction. But to be honest? I’d be perfectly content being the only spoiled pup in a quieter home where I can soak up all the love and attention.I can be shy and slow to warm up—especially in new environments or with unfamiliar people. I need a patient, calm household without a lot of chaos or sudden changes. Rushing me or pushing me before I’m ready can make me feel scared and defensive. But if you give me time, move at my pace, and respect my space, I will reward you with deep loyalty and affection. Once I find “my person,” I bond strongly and just want to be by their side.Because I need a consistent and understanding home, I’m not a fit for families with young children. Older, dog-savvy kids who understand boundaries and can respect my comfort zone may be okay.My dream home is a peaceful one—with structure, routine, and people who will help me continue building confidence at my own speed. I’d love a securely fenced yard to explore (because I do have a little wanderlust!) and a soft place to land when the world feels overwhelming. If you’re someone who believes the best things in life are worth a little patience and love, I just might be your perfect match. Come meet me—I’m ready for my second chance with someone who truly sees me.Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as wel
Adoption Process
Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.
