Across America Boxer Rescue

Our Rescue is an all volunteer effort to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home unwanted and abandoned Boxer dogs. When Boxers are in need, Across America Boxer Rescue's dedicated volunteers respond. Our mission includes hands-on rescue, as well as education. Our rescue is dedicated in helping as many Boxers that have had a very "ruff" start for whatever reason. All Boxers that come into our rescue will be examined by our vet, brought up to date on vaccines, heart worm tested, (placed on heart worm preventive medication) and fecal tested, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We will evaluate each Boxer's personality and temperament, so they can be placed in the best home suited for them.

Meet Brandy

Brandy joined us almost two weeks ago and her foster family letting her get settled in then will get her into the vet for all of her needed routine vetting then we will get her scheduled for her spay surgery.  She is housebroken and is working on being happy in the crate and brief intros with the resident pets have gone well. 2/24 UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM  Brandy is the typical boxer teenager, full of wiggles, kisses and energy. She wasn't crate trained when she came to us, with work and opera concerts :) she is OK in her kennel, she's not to the point that she will go to the kennel when asked but she will explore it while she's out and about. She loves to play with my resident dogs, lab and German shepherd, she outruns both of them! She is house trained, she had one accident when she first got here which is completely understandable, since then she runs to the door when she has to go. She is great with our 12 year old son, he gets the love nibbles from her :) She met outside cats in our shed, she was interested in watching them but that's it. Brandy doesn't appear to have had any training, she will do some basics like sit, down (if she jumps) and come (her outside recall needs work still). She walks good on the leash, I figured this out after doing the 2 week shutdown down with her. She will need to go to obedience training for basics and bonding. Brandy is a petite girl, full of energy and snuggles! Brandy will seeing the vet this coming week for her routine vetting then we will get her spay surgery scheduled.
