Meet Copper – your built-in sunrise alarm with a Basset twist! Copper is an early riser who thinks the best part of the day is watching the sun come up—and he’s ready to greet it full-speed ahead! As soon as he hears the birds chirping, he’s trotting to the door like he’s got a full day of very important dog business (he does). Throughout the day, Copper is all about classic dog vibes—sniffing, lounging, people-watching, and lightning-fast treat snatching. His food radar is highly sensitive; if there’s a crumb within a zip code, he knows. He’s incredibly social and absolutely thrives with other dogs—he previously lived with a Lab and is currently cohabiting peacefully with a very energetic Westie. The more canine company, the better! Copper is all Basset Hound/Hound — low, long, loud, and completely lovable. He’s got all the trademark quirks: big soulful eyes, floppy everything, dramatic storytelling via howls, and a comedic waddle that makes strangers stop and smile. We like to say he’s the Hulk trapped in a Basset body—strong, sturdy, and packed with personality. He loves to be near his people, preferably right next to—or halfway on top of—you on the couch. He may not have figured out toys yet (too busy monitoring human activity), but he’s always down to play with people or other pups. And when you take him out, be prepared: everyone wants to meet him. He’s got that “celebrity dog” energy. If you’re ready for a big personality in a low-riding package, and you don’t mind a few Basset ballads echoing through your home, Copper might just be your soulmate. Copper is from an Owner Surrender. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
