Callum came to us from the city pound when his legal stray hold finished and no one claimed him. He appears to be a husky/shepherd mix and is 1-2 years old. He's a pretty cool dude who has the frisky, teasing personality of a husky. He will be vet checked and neutered on June 10th and his fee is $150. Callum just arrived on May 25th so we're getting to know him. He likes people and seems to be okay with the other dogs at the shelter, although he hasn't been up close and personal with them yet. He's energetic but pretty relaxed in his kennel. He will need a home that is able to keep up with his energy level and training needs. We think he'd be fine with older kids. We have no way of knowing about cats. He's a pretty cool dude! NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
Adoption Process
Starts with written Application form which includes questions regarding housing situation (rent/own etc. renters require landlord approval), History of previous or current pets, Vet information, Animal housing information (cats must be indoors, dogs fenced yard etc.). Fees for Cat Adoptions are $50 (or $75 for two) Dogs vary based on breed, size, etc. Average is $125.
