$150.00Promise is a 2 month old border collie/rat terrier mix puppy who came to the shelter with her two siblings as an owner surrender. She can be a little shy at first but becomes a playful and happy puppy once she's comfortable. She will be ready for a new home once she has received two of her three distemper/parvo combination vaccinations. Her fee of $150 covers all of her basic vet work and includes all three distemper/parvo vaccinations, microchip, rabies vaccination when old enough, and spay surgery when old enough. The vet work will be coordinated by us. Promise will require basic training in all areas. She's a mix of two very active and intelligent breeds and should be a lot of fun to train. She will require a lot of exercise to keep her happy and balanced. She should be fine with other dogs and is young enough to learn to behave around cats. She should be fine with older kids but might develop some herding instincts as she matures. She needs a committed home in which she's not left alone for long hours. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
Adoption Process
Starts with written Application form which includes questions regarding housing situation (rent/own etc. renters require landlord approval), History of previous or current pets, Vet information, Animal housing information (cats must be indoors, dogs fenced yard etc.). Fees for Cat Adoptions are $50 (or $75 for two) Dogs vary based on breed, size, etc. Average is $125.
