Sadie came to the shelter as an owner surrender with her companion Hunter. She is an approximately 6 year old husky/Pomeranian mix (pomsky) and she is dainty and well mannered. She and Hunter have lived together their whole lives so we are going to try really hard to adopt them out as a bonded pair. We feel it would be the best scenario for them. Sadie will be vet checked on May 21st and her fee with Hunter is $250. Sadie is a little on the shy side at first but follows Hunter's lead. She's really a honey of a girl. She will require some regular grooming but her coat is not quite as thick as Hunter's. She is okay with other dogs and should be fine with older kids. Cats? We're not sure. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
Adoption Process
Starts with written Application form which includes questions regarding housing situation (rent/own etc. renters require landlord approval), History of previous or current pets, Vet information, Animal housing information (cats must be indoors, dogs fenced yard etc.). Fees for Cat Adoptions are $50 (or $75 for two) Dogs vary based on breed, size, etc. Average is $125.
