Hi friends, I'm Fiona! Some may call me a lowrider, some may call me a land hippo, others may call be a bulldog mix - what do you think? I'm a petite, but sturdy girl at about 40 pounds of all love and muscle! My short squatty legs are muscular built, but my favorite thing in the world is being a softy and snuggled up with you! My ideal home you ask? oh gosh, with anyone! I get a little too intrigued by those kitty cat things, squirrels, and rabbits, so a small animal and cat free home is needed. Foster mom has never let me close to one to see if I am just wanting to be friends.. or... have a snack, so not sure there, but we don't want to find out. I love all the dogs I've met and gosh, you humans of every size are my favorite. I might know the little ones down in excitement, but I just adore anyone and everyone. I am leash trained, but a fenced in yard would be great as I get distracted when out on walks by those critters running and flying around. Sometimes I forget what I am to do outside, and then have an accident in the house. I think a fenced in yard would help me have less distractions outside! That kennel thing, well, not my favorite, but if you leave me out (and I have done my potty business outside) I will just wait for you to return. Car rides? oh yeah, that's my jam! Let's check out this new city together! I came up from Texas so I have so much to explore here! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home. * **Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***
Adoption Process
Our process for adoption is:
1. Potential applicant searches our available dogs and/or cats listings and completes an adoption application.
2. Our staff reviews the application and puts you in contact with the foster volunteer of the pet your interested in.
3. The foster volunteer coordinates a âmeet and greetâ with you and any other members of your household.
4. If the foster and adopter agree the pet is a good fit, a home visit will be scheduled. Upon completion of a successful home visit, you will complete and sign our adoption contract, pay the fee, and take home your new pet!
