Meet Louise *Arriving 5/30*

Louise is here for a good time. She’s a happy, wiggly, slightly clumsy pup who just wants to play, snuggle, and win you over with her charm. Tug-of-war is her game of choice, and when fetch gets going, so do the zoomies. She’s also got that classic puppy move where she flops into your lap like she belongs there. She and her sister Thelma were found dumped at a truck yard. We don’t know anything about their life before that, but since coming into foster care, Louise has shown she’s smart, social, and full of love. She's great with people and other dogs, and she’s picking things up quickly. That said, she’s still a puppy, so she’ll need someone ready to help her with the basics: potty training, commands, and learning not to chew what’s not hers. She has a lot of playful energy, so she’ll need a home where someone’s around to engage with her. She does bark when she's excited (especially at mealtimes or while playing), and she whines a bit when left alone, but settles after a few minutes. She’d do well in a home with another playful dog, as long as they’re okay with puppy energy and someone constantly in their face. If there are kids in the mix, older is better—she's got some bounce to her and might be a little much for toddlers. Louise is a lover through and through, just looking for someone to keep up with her fun, goofy, affectionate self. Louise  is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 05/30/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.  Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.* If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
