Meet Cora, a gentle soul who is learning, step by step, what it truly means to be a dog. Released from a life as a breeder dog, Cora’s past was defined by confinement and a purpose that brought joy to others but left none for her. Now, she’s experiencing the simple joys of freedom — the feel of grass under her paws, the warmth of the sun on her back, and the kindness of a human touch. Cora is taking her time adjusting to life beyond the kennel, observing the world with cautious, hopeful eyes. She’s discovering that there’s more to life than she ever knew: soft beds, treats given just because, and the comfort of a safe, loving home. Though she may be shy at first, with patience and love, Cora's true spirit will bloom. Cora is not fully potty trained and is unfamiliar with the use of stairs, so her future family should be prepared for this learning curve and understand that mistakes will happen. She right now is carried up and down all stairs because she just doesn't know what to do. Because she struggles with a leash, a fenced-in yard is a must so she can explore safely at her own pace. Additionally, Cora would thrive best in a home with another dog who can show her what it means to be a beloved companion and help guide her through the process of becoming more comfortable. If you’re ready to be Cora’s guide in this new chapter of her life and help her find the happiness she so deserves, she’ll return your kindness with quiet moments of trust and the profound gratitude only a heart like hers can offer.
Adoption Process
Our adoption process includes an adoption application. After reviewing your application and contacting the vet and personal references, a meeting is scheduled between the potential adopter and the pet, in the foster's home or a neutral animal friendly place. If there are any resident animals within the home, it is required that they meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit by one our representatives is REQUIRED prior to finalizing any adoption and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. 6 month post-adoption check in is completed.
