Meet Kahan
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org.Kahan is as goofy as he is loyal and loves to be close to people. This handsome fellow doesn't let you out of his sight and is content to lay at your feet or sploof nearby. He doesn't bark much or loudly when he does and mainly saves that for his favorite activity of playing catch. He runs like the wind to catch the ball and will bring it back and lay it at your feet and give a bark to let you know he is ready for another round. He walks beautifully ( he has the corgi butt wiggle- for extra cuteness) on a leash and is potty trained. We crate him when we aren't home, but have no doubt he would behave by having free range of the house once he is comfortable with his surroundings. He likes to sleep on the floor at night and is quiet until it's time to get up in the morning. Kahan is gentle and submissive with other dogs and likes to play and share treats with our resident corgi. He is also sweet with kids, he likes to snuggle with our 4 year old and was gentle as could be when he met a baby. He likes to kiss your toes when he comes up to say hi and is happy to lay his head on your lap for all the scratches. He does have a lot of hair and would benefit from daily brushes. He loves this though and will roll over so you can get his stomach and chest area as well. Kahan is a gentleman and will make a wonderful family dog as he is unfazed by the hustle and bustle of a busy household or he'd be equally happy in a quieter household. He is truly a gem!Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.
Adoption Process
Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.
