Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Rags

**The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** This cute lil fuzz ball is Rags!  Rags is a doodle mix of some sort or at least we think so.  He is about 40 pounds and a sweet guy.  He is still getting used to things at the shelter but he absolutely loves to play ball!  He is friendly and seems to really want to do things that he's asked.  He will need some continued work on obedience but he's well on his way to good boy status.   We are told that he does not like other dogs and we need to see how he feels about cats.  Due to his exuberant nature small children are not a good fit. Rags is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  His adoption fee is $275.00

Adoption Process
application, adoption fees for dogs/puppies start at $150-$300. Cats/kittens are free will offering adoptions. Contracts for adoptions must be signed. All animals (unless too young) are altered prior to adoption. If not altered a deposit is paid and given back plus a rebate after the alteration has been performed.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
