Wags and Whiskers Animal Rescue of MN

Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and finding forever homes for stray, abandoned and surrendered dogs in high kill shelters. We are a small, volunteer run organization. All of our animals listed are in foster homes waiting to be adopted and because of this, we get to know the animals' personalities very well and use this information to match them to an appropriate home. We do not have a physical shelter. This rescue is not funded by public funds nor does it receive many donations so it is dependent on adoption fees to keep operating. We provide all needed supplies and cover medical costs of the foster while it awaits a forever home.

Meet Clove D5881

Clove is a loving, smart and playful dog. Often rubbing up on her people's legs in hopes they will give her butt scratches and belly rubs. Clove will happily pay anyone back with lots of big doggy kisses. Clove, who also goes by Clover, Wolfie, Baby Girl, BG,  is a Shephard mix with an approx. date of birth of 06/28/2021. Once you get Clove outside she turns on sport mode. She is being fostered with a fenced in back yard and she thinks its pretty great. Clove likes to run as fast as possible from one side of the yard to the other, taking corners so wild her legs just flail around. She can easily jump 4 feet high when playing  but has never attempted to jump over the 4 foot side of the fence. Clove still has some mouthiness and will occasionally go for your arm or feet when playing but she can be redirected quickly. Even though Clove is going for Olympic gold medals when outside, Clove is relaxed and easy going on the daily. She just likes to find a comfy spot to lay, a few toys to chew on and throw around and will occasionally bark at the world walking by the window.   Clove is one of the smartest dog. She is easily trained, and learns quickly from watching what you are doing.  Clove is food motivated but she is also very motivated by your attention and love.  She is potty trained, but not fully crate trained. She currently sleeps in her fosters living room with a baby gate for separation and she does well. When left to free roam she does okay, but the occasional chap stick, random bathroom Kleenex or night stand lotion may be chewed up when you return. Clove does not do well with other dogs/cats. She will really thrive being the only pet in the home! Clove is ready to find her forever home, if you would like to meet her in person fill out an application.

Adoption Process
Our adoption process includes an adoption application. After reviewing your application and contacting the vet and personal references, a meeting is scheduled between the potential adopter and the pet, in the foster's home or a neutral animal friendly place. If there are any resident animals within the home, it is required that they meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit by one our representatives is REQUIRED prior to finalizing any adoption and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. 6 month post-adoption check in is completed.
