Wags and Whiskers Animal Rescue of MN

Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and finding forever homes for stray, abandoned and surrendered dogs in high kill shelters. We are a small, volunteer run organization. All of our animals listed are in foster homes waiting to be adopted and because of this, we get to know the animals' personalities very well and use this information to match them to an appropriate home. We do not have a physical shelter. This rescue is not funded by public funds nor does it receive many donations so it is dependent on adoption fees to keep operating. We provide all needed supplies and cover medical costs of the foster while it awaits a forever home.

Meet Chief D6056

Chief is such a friendly guy!!! He's the first one to great us at the door when we get home with a quick "WooWoo" which has quickly turned into his new nick name!! He loves kids and gets along great with other dogs!! He is so playful!! He always is walking around with a toy in his mouth!! His loves being outside if you are outside he will sit (tied up) right next you for as long as you do. We are working on recall but sometime he has a mind of his own like most huskies! He would make a wonderful addition to any single person or family! He is often sitting with our 2 boys (10/13yrs) watching them playing video games hoping for a crumb to drop. He is very polite when eating and taking treats!! He's fine with our inside cat so I think he would learn quickly with another cat as long as they aren't to much in his business!! He is an all around great dog!! He has such a funny personality!! He can't wait to meet anyone and everyone!! He doesn't go in a kennel and sleeps on the cool floors at night. We can't wait to meet you and answer any questions you may have!!    NOTE:  Chief tested positive for Lymes disease & Anaplasmosis, which are tick borne diseases that can cause flare ups over his lifetime & may need to be treated with antibiotics. The majority of dogs live full normal lives with these diseases.

Adoption Process
Our adoption process includes an adoption application. After reviewing your application and contacting the vet and personal references, a meeting is scheduled between the potential adopter and the pet, in the foster's home or a neutral animal friendly place. If there are any resident animals within the home, it is required that they meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit by one our representatives is REQUIRED prior to finalizing any adoption and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. 6 month post-adoption check in is completed.
